even though he has no stats yet and has officially logged only one minute of playing time, he is the first korean to play for an nba team. wtg. if only there were more asian players in the nba that don't look like they were created from a lab.
one less unsolved mystery...
so elusive...
all kidding aside, it's good to see asian guys in the nba if only to represent for the continually expanding diversity of the nba. there is also a largely untapped fanbase of asians who i think would want to see an actual 'baller' with some all-star potential, not just some 7' hugemo. i don't see many asians kids patterning their game after yao ming. (probably cause there aren't that many 5'8" centers) i think the type of player who would get a lot of attention (and sell a lot of jerseys) would be a 6' 200lb guard who can run, score and make flashy assists. yuta tabuse was the first japanese guard i've seen and his jersey was one of the top three jerseys sold on the suns a few months ago until he was cut after playing only 4 games. if only some kid with enough talent could get a marketing deal, it could be huge like britney's career after a video shoot directed by seymour butts.

| the bet:
i felt gloomy and reminiscent
until i saw you wearing
the sunset at the cliffs
i was enjoying the same sights
but my gaze wandered to your lips;
your smile was so damn unaware
it made me want to be on your mind
and become a thought for a second in your day
you turned and looked
and i departed with a glancing
but kept peering
to the sunset where we met
eyes, and i made my bet:
With expectation
and some abrasion
i will be there soon.
i will meet you at noon
when the sun is smallest
but feels the closest.
above.
and then,
thats when,
i might know your love,
and maybe i'll cry.
if not,
i bet i might die. |
